Call of the Wild / Road Head
INTO THE WILD
TWO GROUPS HEADED TO WOODS - Packing,
SOCIO-ECONOMIC DIVIDE
CIVILIZATION/WILDERNESS DIVIDE
EVA, SAM, JON, CATHERIN, AND SID ARE PACKING TO GO CAMPING
AS ARE PETER. VESPER, ALISSA, JEN, NATHAN, AND DRESDEN.
YOU FORGOT OUR ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY
Nathan sits at the steering wheel, stopped on the side of a
street, reflective cop sunglasses shining in the afternoon sun.
PETER:
You’re steeling your eyes at the future.
steeling one’s eyes... with reflective lenses... ice cold
blue, thunderstorm rainy lightning flashes of inspired defiance
steeling your eyes:
pre-that: (doing narration)
Done with high-school. His eyes like a tiger let out of its
cage. The grace of the predator, the instrument of death praying
for war. Smoke rises like a clean mist on the swamp of his
indignity.“
*laughing.“ shut the hell up”
(then steeling eyes) +road head
Camera pans over to the person speaking in the passenger
seat, Peter.
PETER:
Like ice - cold. Like the thunderstorm coming over the
horizon. Waiting to pounce.
Nathan, Driver turns his head to look at passenger.
Car pulls up. About to pull up to hangout spot.
NATHAN:
Duck your head down.
Ducks head down.
Surveys the coffee shop/club/
hangout place where there are girls out front noticing them
driving by.
NATHAN:
Roadhead pattern alpha.
Peter slowly lifts head up from position near Nathan’s lap,
smiling in the direction of the people out front of the hangout,
wiping his lips and looking very satisfied.
