10. THE DRIVE OUT

(Later? To Camp?) It Takes Some Balls / True Passion
Submission
CAMPING TRIP – INTO THE WILDERNESS –
PART 1 – IT TAKES SOME BALLS (unspecified onscreen)
CAMPING TRIP (some kind of title on screen, white on black,
in silence)
Fast cut to speeding car
VESPER: in front seat, kind of flirting with Peter:
“So, you drop out of school, and start a paranormal
investigation business.”
PETER:
“Yep.”
VESPER:
“By yourself.”
PETER (laughing):
“Yeah.”
VESPER:
“That takes some balls.”
PETER:
“Well, the ventriloquy business wasn’t working out.”
DRESDEN:
“You still do that? That was cool.”
ALISSA:
“What the fuck are you guys talking about?”
PETER:
“Doing ventrilquy. I have the dummy in the back.”
VESPER:
“And paranormal investigation is much more rewarding for
you..?”
PETER:
“Well… I don’t know. I’m just trying to figure something
out where I can have some fun while… umm…”
NATHAN:
“Making some money.”
PETER:
“Yeah, I guess.”
DRESDEN:
“But what do you like better?”
VESPER:
“I don’t think that’s really the question.”
Peter looks at Vesper thankfully.
DRESDEN:
“Peter was really good at ventriloquy. But I guess that’s
not really much in demand. That’s like a gimmick thing.”
PETER (regretfully):
“Right.”
NATHAN:
“Paranormal investigation could be a good business if you
market it right. You’ve got to just know who would actually pay
for that kind of thing and find them.”
VESPER:
“And maybe not take yourself too seriously.”
ALISSA:
“Like, ‘Who ya’ gonna call?”
VESPER & ALISSA (in unison):
“ * ~ Peter ~ * “
NATHAN:
“Venkman.”
DRESDEN:
“Not to question your business, buddy. But what are your
credentials for being a paranormal investigator?”
PETER:
“I know what I’m doing. I’ve read myself knowledgeable.
Seen all the TV shows people might mention.
“And even ventriloquy gives you some insight into the
paranormal.”
NATHAN:
“Out of body experiences…?”
PETER (solemnly):
“True passion is submission.”
